Sky was brought in because her family were having a new baby.
Sky is a troubled soul who needs a very special home with an experienced dog owner. It took us 19 days to get Sky out of the kennel when she first arrived. She’s very shy, very sensitive to noise and is always looking for the way out.
She is happy to be petted by those who she knows but will run away from those she doesn’t, and sometimes those she does if they take her by surprise. Sky wears a long line in the yard for off lead exercise as she needs to be caught.
She looks mostly like a Husky, but her microchip lists her as a Staffie, her previous keepers thought her mother was a Husky and the father a Staffie x Mastiff. Sky has been very anxious her whole life but when she gets zoomies or excited she can be crazy and will knock anyone and anything over!
She lived with another dog but she was a bit of a bully towards him so her keepers thought she’d be best placed as an only dog, she’s slowly learning to accept other dogs through fences here but still finds many of them too scary and she’ll run and hide.
Walking on lead is not a joy for Sky, she finds it all a bit overwhelming at the moment, her prey drive is strong though and the sheep next door are very very interesting!
If she got off lead, there’s not much hope of her returning to you at this time so she will need a secure area to have any off leash exercise.
