Felix is a middle-aged Border Collie who arrived from his owner. Felix has been living in a city centre flat for years and found it very stressful, so much so that he has been on anti-anxiety medication. He showed quite aggressive behaviour on arrival with us and so, out of interest, we decided to see if taking him off the medication would change his behaviour for better or worse. Since withdrawing the medication, it seems Felix is more relaxed and content being handled and meeting new people. He doesn’t like being touched around the collar and would rather not be brushed thank you very much!
Out on a lead he needs further training, he’s a bit of a ‘diver’ but with a couple of reminders he gets that he needs to walk with his handler instead of louping about like a loony. Recall is zero, he has not been off lead often in his life and so this too will need work. Felix loves running about our yard here and so a garden of his own would make him super happy.
The owner didn’t have a car so he does drool whenever he’s in one.
