Dash is around 6kg, he is some kind of terrier mix. Dash arrived with 5 other dogs, he is the wildest of the six!
The six dogs were callously abandoned at the roadside, as a result we know nothing about where they’re from, their exact breed, their exact age or what life experience they have. Of the six dogs only one had a microchip, from abroad, so we’ve had to test for Brucellosis, which was thankfully negative.
Given the condition of the dogs, we suspect that they have been kept in some sort of outbuilding where they have not been regularly cleaned out nor groomed, some of the dogs had faecal matter baked into their coats so badly that they required sedation for their coats to be shaved, a few baths have yet to get the staining from their lighter coats. For this, they’re all very affectionate.
The dogs have never walked on a lead and cannot be allowed off lead without further training and socialisation. We don’t think they’ve seen a tv, heard a microwave ping or seen another dog or cat or bird or sheep or horse!
They would be best rehomed individually as they do fight over food and human affection and need intensive one to one training to help them flourish in the real world. A private and secured garden would be advantageous while they master housetraining, sometimes they like a cheeky wee poo in bed! These dogs are not for the inexperienced or those with mobility issues. As they were strays they will be not be rehomed with children under 12 years of age.
