About Toby.
Toby came to us because he bit a child. The family have said that they don’t think Toby was to blame but nevertheless they didn’t want to take the risk. The family had him for a matter of weeks as they’d taken him off someone else, as he was fighting with the other dog in the house.
He’s typical of the breed, don’t expect any major enthusiasm when you meet him! A ball might do the trick but only if it’s in a secure area as if he’s in an open area, forget it! He’s offski!
Toby is affectionate and playful but has guarding issues. He has a sensitive tummy and we’re trying to suss out what triggers it at this time.
What kind of home do we need for Toby?
A secure garden would be advantageous as he loves to play ball. Someone who can walk with him, he really enjoys a walk and wouldn’t mind a wee off road adventure too.
He’ll need regular grooming, likely a clip every 10 weeks or thereabouts to keep his coat manageable.
Given his history we will not rehome Toby with children under 12 years of age. We do not know his suitability around cats and given that he resource guards he might be best as an only dog in the home, or at least with a dog that is completely disinterested in toys.
