Oggy had a rather colourful road to get to us and has been passed round Tayside the last few years, born in autumn 2020 he’s likely been another unwanted covid puppy. He’s now 40kg and very strong so perhaps too much for some.
Oggy was petrified when he arrived but is now a big goofy cannonball with all of us staff. His lead manners aren’t great, and the excitement when he sees a lead makes him a bit of a moron on the lead for the first few minutes. He’s lacking in spacial awareness and will sometimes step out in front of cars along the roadside here! But we’ll keep working on it while he waits for his forever family.
Oggy isn’t a Tasmanian Devil on the lead but we’d exercise caution around other dogs. We do not know his suitability around cats and as he was a stray our policy is no children in the home under 12 years of age.
Dogs such as Oggy are attractive to people looking for a dog to use as a weapon or to make them feel “hard” and so we will do rigorous home checks on any potential adopter. As ever, a private garden for off lead play would be advantageous but not essential for a dog experienced home.
