Tito, 2yo GSD

Tito is a 2yo German Shepherd. This poor guy has been passed around the houses and ended up in Scotland just a few weeks ago after being adopted from the south of England. The people who took him hadn’t introduced their own dog to him and so when they brought him into their home they fought (their own dog was the aggressor) and Tito was injured requiring veterinary treatment. Rather than take him back to the kennels they got him from, which was an 8 hour drive, they brought him here.

Prior to Tito being in Scotland, he was placed with a German Shepherd breeder after struggling to cope in a previous rehoming centre, he’d lost a lot of weight as a result of kennel stress. They’d rehomed him to a couple in Cambridge but that had fallen through as Tito is not lead trained and pulled the gentleman, who suffered from breathing difficulties, over.

The story given to Nyrvana German Shepherds was that he was a failed prison dog, but we’re not convinced! Our theory is that Tito was not accepted as a prison dog as he’s not physically able, we have him booked in for x-rays in the New Year but, by eye alone we can see this poor boy has hip dysplasia and veterinary examination suggests possibly elbow dysplasia too, he was most compliant with the vet while she thoroughly examined him and has started joint supplements and pain relief.

Tito is finding the kennels incredibly stressful, he is meant to be house-trained but is climbing the walls here and trashing his kennel overnight.

Nyrvana German Shepherds and the people that brought him to us testify he is dog friendly, however the gentleman in Cambridge who had him for a short time said he found small dogs and cats very exciting and would lunge at them. We do not know if he’s ever been exposed to children.

We are still awaiting a formal diagnosis before we can rehome him.

The adoption fee for all dogs is £210.00.
