Billie, English Pointer cross

BILLIE IS PROFOUNDLY DEAF

Billie has arrived with us through no fault of her own. She is just 15 months old and was born deaf, Billie’s owner has taught her sign language and she responds pretty well to them.

Billie likes other dogs, has lived with cats and children. She loves people and was happily handled by the vets. She’s a keen traveller, in both car and on buses.

Billie has separation anxiety and is finding the kennels very stressful. When she’s out for exercise she’s a lovely girl but back in the kennel she cries and looks for ways to escape, we’ve had our vet prescribe medication to help her with her stress here.

What kind of home are we looking for?

An experienced dog owner please, an owner who has had deaf dog experience would be fantastic.

As Billie cannot be off lead in public spaces, she must have her own garden for offlead exercise, or someone with the means to give her secure offlead exercise regularly.

To meet Billie you must submit an application form, we may then invite you for a meeting by appointment.
