Dolly is now reserved
Dolly arrived from her owner as she and the other Corso in the home had started fighting. Dolly’s owner had recently fled a violent relationship and as a result Dolly is quite timid. She developed an instant bond with one staff member but is very reluctant to be handled by anyone else, she’s not shown any aggressive tendencies but has been incontinent through fear.
She’s very interested in other dogs through the bars of kennels but is incredibly frightened of them and new people without a safety barrier.
She’s been on a walk with her favourite staff member and her lead manners are good, other staff cannot safely handle her to leave the kennel compound.
What kind of home are we looking for?
Dolly will need someone willing and able to spend time here forming a relationship. She will likely not come near you on first visit, our full time staff struggle to get near her – she only has eyes for one staff member and therefore visits can only be arranged when they are available.
She’ll need help to build her confidence without forcing her into too many new situations too quickly. Breed knowledge or knowledge of similar breeds a definite advantage. Dolly has cleared one of our 6ft fences when a new person surprised her so it’s not likely to keep her in if you have one but of course, a private, safe space for her to call her own would be best for her.
